The short version
This Privacy Policy explains how Blunoic Labs (“Blunoic”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use Blunoic Pets: our Android and iOS apps, the website at pets.blunoic.com, your web account, and related services (together, the “Service”).
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address and password. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and stored only in hashed form; we never see them.
- Pet profiles and records: pet names, species, breed, birth date, sex, microchip number, photos, weight, vaccinations, deworming, medications, allergies, vet visits, daily care logs, reminders, notes and files you add.
- Sharing: the email addresses of family members, caregivers or partners you invite, and the role you give them.
- Waitlist and contact: your email address if you join the waitlist, and anything you write to us.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: basic technical data such as app version, device type, sign-in times and error reports, used to keep the Service working and secure.
- Location (optional): if you use “Nearby vets” and allow it, your device’s location is used to search for clinics near you. We don’t keep a history of your location; the search area you choose is stored on your device.
- Website cookies: pets.blunoic.com uses essential storage to keep you signed in, and analytics cookies only if you accept them in the cookie banner.
How we use your information
- Provide the Service: store and sync your pets’ records across your devices, send reminders, calculate the Care Score and create vet reports.
- Let you share care: show shared pets to the people you invite and send invite emails on your behalf.
- Send service emails: account confirmation, password reset, invites and important updates. Waitlist emails only if you joined the waitlist.
- Keep the Service safe: prevent abuse, fix errors and protect accounts.
- Improve the Service, using aggregated or de-identified information where possible.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your pets’ health records for advertising.
How information is shared
- With people you choose: family members, caregivers and partners you invite can see the shared pet and its records, and can add logs and reminders. You can remove access at any time.
- With service providers who run parts of the Service for us, under contracts that limit how they use data:

- For legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users or Blunoic.
- In a business transfer: if Blunoic Labs is involved in a merger or acquisition, your information may transfer under this policy, and we’ll tell you before it becomes subject to a different policy.
Your choices and rights
- Access and download: download a copy of your data from your account page (“Download my data”).
- Correct: edit your name, pets and records in the app or on your account page.
- Delete: delete your account from your account page at pets.blunoic.com/auth.html. This permanently removes your account, your pets and their records, and your access to pets others shared with you.
- Sharing: remove a caregiver, or leave a pet shared with you, at any time.
- Notifications and location: turn them off in your device settings.
- Emails: unsubscribe from waitlist or marketing emails; service emails are needed to run your account.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Contact us to exercise them.
How long we keep data
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your account and pet data from our active systems promptly; limited copies may remain in backups for a short period before they are overwritten. Waitlist emails are kept until launch communications end or you ask us to remove them.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to your data is restricted by account-level security rules, so other users can only see pets you share with them. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.
Children
Blunoic Pets is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires), and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service grows. We’ll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email.
